The short four years of high school flew by in a blink of an eye. The hard work that Mr. Wilson (and supporters of RenProject.org), my teachers, coaches, and advisors at Academy at the Lakes, and I put in resulted in a very exciting outcome. I graduated high school with an excellent GPA and an almost-full scholarship to college! This was quite the journey. We hit a few bumps on the way, but with the help and generosity of others, everything turned out well.
I am grateful for all that has been given to help me in life, especially a life changing education.
Now, a new chapter of my life is starting, and I cannot be more excited. I am finally going to college! Despite a challenging year, I can’t be happier than I am now. This has always been my dream – to go to college and pursue a higher education. And now, it is my future.
I will expect many things out of myself when I arrive at Alma in a few short weeks. For me, college is a gateway to my future. It is where my decisions will impact the outcome of my life. I want to make a difference for myself and for my family, and by working hard and dedicating myself to being a successful college student, I will do so.
I am very excited to be a part of the Alma College football family because I know that my favorite sport will teach me far more than physical toughness. Through it, I will learn patience, the value of self-motivation, and the importance of teamwork. I can’t wait to begin my training and to see where my talent and hard work take me.
Thank you all for everything. Anyone that has ever helped me, thank you. Whether it was a small donation or making a connection, it mattered.
